Wooden Soap Molds
Wooden Soap Molds

Soap - has the capacity to produce durable strong emotions in us, and this depends on its peculiar smell ... lovely flavor and color. I clearly remember when my son was very young, and added a special soap bar with a duck inside a small-is put out at each bath time. I can not remember the exhilarating sensation washed with fresh sea-spray scented soap, or a feeling of luxury of washing with soap vanilla. I remember these things easily - soap scent easily brings back memories.
Nowadays, richly scented soaps are not cheap, and can not always pay what we want. Often we have to settle for commercial soaps made with just a hint of fragrance.
But what if I told you you could do own homemade soap? That you can choose any fragrance you wanted, and even put herbs, flowers or other things inside the soap? It would be intrigued? Would you be willing to give it a try?
There are hundreds of great homemade soap recipes and we'll start with a very basic. It is important to remember that sometimes it takes several attempts to do well, but once have the process, making homemade soap is easy and fun!
Here's the recipe, followed by a link that will help you find all the material and additional information you need.
Basic recipe for homemade soap
Ingredients:
Bleach solution
Animal fat
Cold water
Scents, herbs or anything else you want to add to the soap opera
Things you need:
2 jug
Large pot (at least 12 quarts)
Candy Thermometer
Wooden spoon
Soap molds
Rubber gloves
Something to cover soap at the end of the process as a towel, Styrofoam or cardboard
The first thing you have to do is make the lye solution ready for use. To do so, by pouring 2 1 / 2 cups cold water in an enamel pot. Then, little by little add 13 ounces of bleach, making sure to stir constantly with wooden spoon. The lye water is heated, and must be cooled before going the next step. If you want to cool quickly, place the pot in some cool water. After the lye has cooled, you should pour into 2-quart pitcher.
Next, you need to prepare the animal fat. To do this, put 6 pounds of it in a saucepan and heat gently until melted. Once everything is melted, remove from heat and let cool. It is important to remember that one of the biggest problems people face when making homemade soap is trying to accelerate the process of and not allowing the lye or animal fat to cool. If you hurry, the process can not be a success.
The lye and fat need between 95-98 degrees for the next step (use candy thermometer to measure temperature). You may have to place them in basins of hot or cold water to get the perfect temperature.
Once you're right, remove the fat (it's probably hardened a little) and then slowly add the lye, stirring all the time. The substance become opaque and brown, but after shaking for a while, you begin to clarify. Once that happens, and is the consistency of sour cream, you're ready for the next step.
Now the fun part! Add your perfume or anything you want into the mix, and then poured into molds soap. Place in a warm place, and some use (the towel, Styrofoam or cardboard) to insulate, putting him over the top. Wait twenty four hours, then remove the soap from its molds.
You're almost done! Now you must configure the soap in an area where a lot of breezes, and let it sit there for 2-4 weeks. The waiting is the hardest part, but allow your soap to set properly.
