I saw fleas on my kittens?

so i just adopted two kittens that are about 7 weeks old, and last night I felt something moving on my arm, it was a flea in my bed. The next morning, i read about it and gave my two kittens of 7 weeks old a bath in the sink with hot water, and washed their little bodies with soap dawn. I just saw one end of fleas in the water, could have been more I just could not see them. I also sucked up all the rugs in my house, and washed there beds. this morning is when they gave them their baths, and this afternoon we were playing in my chair and I found two dead fleas on the seat. Is that normal, and / or good signal? Also I was looking at my white linen very good and I see no fleas, even thought I did not see yet I wash my sheets? thanks to all for the help and I have to say that these two love little has changed my life and made me a happier person.
