Soapmaking Business

Believe it or not, there are (and always have been) very few men who
quilting, making quilts and make money.

As a matter of fact, there was an article in our local newspaper (The San Diego Union Tribune) about a retired engineer who is designing and making some really unique quilts - type 3-dimensional for future quilts.

Michael James has been around for years, he took a class in mid-1980 and now teaches in the Arts / Arts in tissue University of Nebraska - Lincoln.

Quilter Ricky TIMS is a kind of cowboy who took sewing as an adult when she broke her sewing machine that had inherited of her grandmother. He travels the quilt guild giving workshops and speeches. And
there always man-made quilts hanging quilt at local fairs.

The Museum of American Quilter's Society in Paducah, Kentucky sponsored a rug program that featured the work of 22 men - 26 blankets in all - many of whom are as macho as they come. In March, the show was in Greensburg, in April quilt Hall in Pittsburgh and in June, the good people in St. Petersburg enjoyed the show. men and their quilts.

In October 2005 the opening of a traveling exhibition "Men of the Bible Proportion". The aim of this exhibition was to present a topic about men by men for men. The male characters of the Bible fit this description. It was well called "men of Proportion Bible. This exhibition will travel to quilt shows, churches, museums and galleries throughout the U.S. until late 2007.

A Google search turn, many more men in the world of quilting. I guess it is not just to make blankets - is about creating art that captures the spirit, imagination and history.
