Soap making has now become a cool thing to do and is right up there along side candle making. Once you start making soap the likely hood is that your friends and colleagues will love you for it and will be asking all sorts of questions like how they can get involved and even pay you for some of your products that you've made but they will more than likely just beg for to get some of you products.

Think about it! If you were to go to a marketplace and have 2 stalls lined up side by side one of which is selling high street branded soap products and the other selling homemade soap products probably at the same price as they are so cheap to make and the other stall is selling handmade soap. Which would you purchase? Of course it would be the homemade soap. It's the obvious choice.

Why? That's a peculiar question but my view on homemade products is that someone has took the time to do this which means it must be something they enjoy. It is because of this I associate handmade products to have some personal touches to them. The person making the soap will have different recipes and enjoy mixing ingredients to get different fragrances and if they are out selling the product then they will have put time into the project and taken a lot of care.

By hand making a product themselves and putting it to market is just the same as a personal recommendation for a product.

If you're friend said to you that they just got a brand new iphone and highly recommended it (if we all could afford it) we would buy one because someone we trust has recommended that product. I view hand crafter's of the same qualities as if they didn't believe they had an excellent product they wouldn't be marketing it for sale. So I link handmade with quality and would be willing to pay more for such a product.
