What to use cement concrete, rubber and plastic molds?
When the concrete casting molds in ABS or rubber, if the use of cement Portland and sand? Premixed bags of cement? Premixed bags of sand mix? Plaster molding? There are two primary rules, and a pair of secondary considerations that determine Why use. First, follow the product you are using. Mold thickness and size does matter - can use premixed bags "concrete" or bags of premix "Sand Mix", depending on how thick are quality. The main differences are the size of the aggregate in each type. Concrete has become larger or gravel with sand and Portland cement, and is designed to the racks of two inches and thicker. These bags of concrete mix should meet or exceed ASTM C-387 and lead to a compressive strength of 4,000 psi at 28 days, when mixed as directed. Arena is the mixture of Portland cement and sand, as its name suggests, is designed for use with half inch thickness and mold thickness to two inches deep. Arena mixture used as directed and in accordance with ASTM C-387 produces a compressive strength 5,000 psi at 28 days.
When using a mixture of sand bags - cement and brick wall tiles thin, often half-inch thick thinner or do better with a mixture of sand. Stone plate two inches thick, and most of the wall plates to be cast with a mixture of sand too. If articles are being made for indoor use on a vertical surface like a wall of bricks or tiles, you can use a cast instead of sand mix. Produce gypsum use a lighter weight tile, brick or stone as well as allow the use of wall tile and putty made to install them. This comes in cubes, and is readily available in most supply stores for the home.
It should be noted that a half-inch thick slab of concrete or brick paver can withstand the weight of traffic vehicle, like a driveway, if installed on a concrete base. The same applies to cover a concrete patio. Stones from a half-inch thick, properly installed with thin and / or mortar, and made with a mixture of sand has a compressive strength of over 5,000 psi. Savings in raw material costs between a concrete pouring mold half inch thick, compared to two to three inches thick mold is important. So if you are covering a concrete sidewalk patio, or driveway, you may want to consider using a thinner mold.

Alternative to the use of premix concrete bags - For large projects, to save money and have more control on the design of the mixture, I recommend using Portland cement, which comes in bags of 94 pounds. You will also need sand in bulk and / or gravel, color additive, Specifically, etc, for your stones. Or in the case of having to make lots of light or medium weight stone for the walls, you would like to start with Portland cement and an aggregate light as lava rock, vermiculite, perlite, expanded shale, or other lightweight aggregates.
In making the stone or tile for major projects or for commercial purposes for resale, the savings in raw material costs will make a big difference in the total project cost compared to the use of bags of concrete pre-mixed or sand mix. Note that there are some downsides however. The design and mix your own batch should be aware that you have to buy sand in bulk and have a place to store it.
