According to a study published in the Annals of Oncology in January 2005, the oleic acid (acid monounsaturated fat) content of olive oil reduces the negative effects of the oncogene, a gene capable of transforming a host cell into a cancerous. Apart from this, the polyphenols (antioxidants from plants) of olive oil work as the defense of our body cell damage, which is known to cause cancer.

Apart from defending our cells from damage, olive oil polyphenols are also known to be able to dilate the arteries. Once this happens, decrease blood pressure instantly. Therefore, including olive oil in our daily consumption can help us save on medications that might need if you are diagnosed with high blood pressure.

Because of olive oil flavored with body, only a little of what is needed to improve the taste of our food as opposed to other types of oil.
