Can I use a 55-gallon barrel containing soap to collect rainwater for my garden?

In fact the barrel contained "all the ingredients to make natural soap, but some of these are based alcohol," according to the person who is giving it away. I think it should be rinsed well if I was fine, but I get some input from others in the field, please.

Thoroughly wash out first. As the owner of a barrel rain and a manufacturer of soap, no washing a favorite patch of grass. All natural soap contains 2 ingredients of oil and lye. If bleach be held careful washing outside, but from the person who said that alcohol, you're safe. Held the ingredients of a detergent, not soap.
