Handmade Soap Making - Step by step

Making homemade soap allows you to combine the ingredients and see something totally different then correctly before of his ideas. Making soap is a great hobby enjoyed by many. Here are the basics for making soap yourself.

1. The recipe.

Critical to the manufacture of soap is the perfect blend of ingredients. Soap is a combination of fat, water and bleach. In the right proportions get very mild soap that lathers well and feels like luxury. The wrong proportions and you get chaos.

Choose a recipe from someone you trust to begin. You do not need a complete list of ingredients. Coconut, palm and olive oil are the base oils used. Then you will have water with bleach and perfume.

2. Tools.

Mixing pots, molds for training, spoons for stirring, thermometer for monitoring and measurement scales, which is what you need. Then there are the molds for the formation and perhaps cutters ... cutting. It can be simple and cheap. No fancy stuff needed.

3. Ingredients.

Lye is caustic, but soap requires. Order because it is probably not at a store near you. Soapmaking oils and takes only a few. Coconut foam, palm to hardness, oil for felt. You can use all sorts of other people, including lard and emu oil, but coconut and palm oil are the three main and really do not need others.

4. The mix up.

Careful measurement is essential. Get the right proportions and is half. It's about the combination of bleach and water first. Then mix all the oils, the merger if necessary. Then pour slowly, bleach / water in the oil blend. Never the reverse. Always wear eye protection and gloves are a plus. Do not pour this mixture down the drain either.

5. Molds, curing, cutting.

After stirring, just until the point where the mixture begins to thicken, which goes into the molds. Molds are everywhere. Buy bar molds individual bread molds or use whatever. That means most of the plastic boxes as molds work. Think of the cut before cutting. Using bread knives Hard soap is not only hard, it's too risky. Simple soap cutters are usually inexpensive and easy to use.

Soap making craft happens step by step. It is simply the combination of fats and lye into the right combination. So is getting tougher bars in the right way. It is the Part science but an art very well.

What is the best to melt and pour soap base?

Or soap base in general. I like to make my own soap, but it seems that I know very little about the millions of materials of soap (actually never has been a girly girl "). Aloe vera vs Shea vs goat milk butter .... that is best for your skin? Also, anyone know any stores that sell them? Prefer not to buy online. I have a Michaels near my house, and a JoAnns, do one of the selling? Thanks in advance!

The craft stores sell soap bases MP, but they are pretty bad and not good for your skin. There are two world-class brands that I feel very comfortable with, both available on the web. New Directions is one of many Stephenson brand suppliers, which is great. The mark on others to keep an eye open for SFIC is sold by Pico Sailing among others. You should Google to find one near you as provider that are strong and the shipping cost may be relatively high. There is a great forum of soap may want to visit (join?) Called CRAFT Server (or sometimes Candletech - recently renamed) http://www.craftserver.com/forums/. There is an entire section on soaps MP and you can get great advice. http://www.craftserver.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=45
