Make Your Own Laundry Soap

Soap Nuts May be the king of natural laundry detergent, but knowledge still reigns supreme

There are some critical on the use of soap nuts in nontraditional ways. For "traditional" I mean the soap nuts (aka soap nuts) attached in a cotton bag and threw her clothes. Recently, soap nut powder and liquid are appearing more and more. Is not the race for the next new always fun? The problem inherent in a 'race', however speed is that often leads to errors and mistakes. There are very important issues to take into have these two new forms of soap nuts.

Started with the economy:

1) NaturOli not promote the use of soap nut powder. It is becoming increasingly popular for many sellers, but is - for now - in the least economical to use soap nuts. (I suppose some people choose not to talk about it. Well, at least the math is not difficult.) The problem is that regardless of how a finely powdered shell, saponin (the active ingredient of all important) is not completely released before the end of the drainage system. Not good. Remember this is a fruit - not a synthetic chemical. Therefore, we must accept and work with their inherent properties. Compare for yourself: half an ounce of soap nuts quality used in the traditional method (that's the average weight of five soap nuts), can do three, four, five or more loads. A half-ounce of powder (the recommended amount to be effective) not a burden. Period. That's it. To compound the problem, vendors charge a premium for the dust. Ouch! If the soap nut powder is what you really feel you ought, NaturOli recommends using a coffee grinder and grind them yourself the finest powder possible. Try reducing the average suggested ounces a third or a quarter ounce. Depending on your water hardness and type of machine, you may be able to use less. Save the pieces that do not traditionally used to grind. Our laboratory is working on some really out-of-the-box for the use of powder forms - without the enormous increase in cost per wash. Soap Nuts traditionally used and of prudence can be as affordable as any effective chemical detergent. If you want the convenience of dust, just be aware that currently has a convenience dearly.

Now - The most serious warning:

2) Be extremely careful of any liquid soap nut. This is scary. Our recent review and analysis of an official MDSS (Material Safety Data Sheet) which was grudgingly provided by the exporting India Nepal was absolutely terrifying. Apparently, the great desire to achieve rapid liquid market, the exporter uses less eco-friendly extraction processes, in addition to loading the solution with chemical preservatives, they could find cheaper. As with most of the drawings of botanical and solutions, a pure liquid soap nuts will rancid within days unless somehow preserved. (A seller must have been in a big hurry to get a liquid market stopped selling in a few weeks. I have some. Wow. Talk about gross!) Essentially some India / Nepal exporters do not have the mentality to develop a safe and healthy detergent. (Remember which is a detergent - not a product of skin care.) saponin Inherent to healthy beautiful, the green features were completely destroyed. Essentially all the good thing about the soap nut is undone. The MDSS read like arsenic! I was surprised! It must have a biohazard label on it. IMPORTANT NOTE: This need not be disclosed to consumers. A seller can simply label a product with saponin extract and be safe and legal ground. Again, in other words: There are no laws requiring companies to tell you this. Note that there is no FDA requirement for full disclosure of detergents and cleaners. To compound the problem, you can bet that many will produce liquid soap nut, bottled and labeled in India and Nepal. It's way cheaper to produce. So please do not expect the label to telling you all this. As usual, I will only say what you hear. So, Caveat Emptor! (Buyer, beware!) Locate the full and complete disclosure of ingredients, of all.

We're not just talking about money, but we are also talking about our health. Although saponin is naturally anti-fungal and anti-microbial, a Once liquid gets stale very quickly and then serious health risks. A common sense approach to use well-proven, high-quality semi-natural and preservative safe chemical shall be required to extend the life of our required two years. Citric acid simply does not do the job. If you want to be 100% natural and stay safe from serious infectious diseases to keep fungus and other traditional methods of use for now.

(Although this is not the subject of this article, in the note of the life I never really expect genuine, "natural skin care or cosmetic products for the past two years. Formulas designed for topical application that eventually enter the bloodstream, it must be used within six months for maximum benefit and effectiveness. Discard after one year.)

NaturOli only produce our own liquid soap nut and many other household cleaning solutions in our laboratory U.S.. Our extracts and MDSS will be safe and benign, however, the wonderful properties and characteristics of a soap nut will continue. For your protection and extend the useful life as we use no preservatives input exceeding a period of three to five on safety in cosmetics from zero to ten rating scale. We feel this is a good compromise, because they are not topical products for skin care and cosmetics. Note that many people "called" healthy, all natural cosmetics have scored in the eight to ten range. Although not required for detergents and household cleaners, we will act in the spirit a signatory to Skin Deep Cosmetic Safety Compact. All our formulations of soap nuts (it personal care or domestic) will be very low rating - As our award-winning skin washes and creams are now. There is no classification system for detergents and cleaning products, but we can calculate what it would be. I hope that someday there will be one.
