Beeswax begins its journey in the flowers you see in the spring and summer that dot the road ... and even the flowers in your garden. The bees collect nectar is taken back to the hive for food; among other things. The process of nectar in honey bees. They have special glands in the lower abdomen, which secrete the wax, which expels the glands on their feet, as a clear liquid that bees chew and then click on the cells of honeycomb. When the wax dries, it becomes a hard substance, white, although due to the presence of pollen is usually yellow or even red. Beeswax also darkens with age and use, for example, when bees are raising a breeding. The color has no physical effect on the quality of the wax itself, rather than an aesthetic.

Because of the way the wax is often smells like honey ... if your beeswax has a "chemical" or "medicinal" smell was probably altered by the transformation humans. Whitening used to be very popular, but was abandoned because customers demand 100% purity in their beeswax, and the most demanding customers can tell the difference.

Beekeepers have met beeswax from the beginning of the story and further back - but even after millennia, it remains a laborious process. Beeswax Lip Balm Recipe

Basically, the ratio becomes:

40% of the prescription should be of any aesthetic quality oil that is liquid at room temperature (sweet almond, apricot almond, avocado, grapes, hemp seed macadamia nuts, olive oil, sunflower, etc)

25% of your recipe should be any aesthetic quality oil that is solid at room temperature (coconut, lanolin, palm, mango butter, shea butter, etc)

20% of your prescription should be cosmetic Grade Beeswax (white or yellow, pellets or solid blocks)

15% of the prescription should be of any aesthetic quality oil that is fragile at room temperature (cocoa butter, palm kernel, etc.)

* Measurements above are "weights" so you can calculate your own recipe in ounces, grams, or pounds.

Instructions: melt all the carrier oils, honey, wax bee and butter over low heat. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then add flavored oils, essential oils, vitamin E, etc. Stir until all The ingredients are mixed well and pour into containers. The easiest way to do this, is the purchase of low cost "sharp" Drink of paper (such as type on the side of a water cooler). Cut the point and use it as a funnel. Then you can simply throw them away when you're done!

You may have to "play" with this recipe by adding a little more or less of the tablets beeswax. As with any of these recipes, if it's too soft, add a few more balls of beeswax, if too hard, add a little almond oil (or other oil). They are really difficult to spoil, so enjoy and have fun.
