I’m about to start a small business with friends for kids activities, I want to show kids how can we use simple house materials to make a nice bar of soap. So it would be great if you recommend (a book, website, OR even an idea of your own).

The easiest way is to safe all the slivers from older bars, stick them in a blender, then remold the soap and let it dry out into a bar.

To make soap the recipe is fat (oil), glycerine, and some lye in equal amounts. Lye comes from stove ashes soaked in water. Just use the water as lye. You can also add a tiny bit of honey or milk or fragrance or even oatmeal.
