Would you help your best friend bust her cheating husband? It's causing problems in my own marriage!?

My best friend is certain her husband is cheating. He's asked for a divorce and is staying out overnight. The problem is, her husband is my husband's best friend. She wants me to quiz my hubby for any details, go with her to spy on her husband, make anonymous calls to the girl she thinks he is with etc. To make it worse I have just managed to rebuild my own relationship. My husband cheated but after a year of him trying to win me back I am ready to give my marriage another go. So, I understand her pain very well but I don't want to rock the boat in my own relationship. We are getting on so well but the constant pressure from my friend is getting me down. My husband says to leave well alone and concentrate on us. I agree but how can I let her down. Also, when my marriage imploded she treated the whole thing as a soap opera and loved it!
Off course she's asked him but he denies it outright!

I don't think you should help your friend in the way she's asking. I do think, however, you should help your friend in other ways.

Next time she asks you to do something, you're going to have to have a talk with her. It will be difficult, and she will be mad, but what is more important to you -- your friend, or your husband?

Say this: "Listen, you and I have been friends for a long time, and I love you like a sister. I will do anything I can to help you through this difficult time, but I cannot risk my marriage to do so. I'm sorry, but my relationship with my husband comes first, so please consider him completely out of this situation. I will not talk to him or ask him questions about your husband for you, and I cannot snoop. My own marriage is too important to me to risk. If there is anything else I can do for you, please let me know."

She'll probably pitch a fit and stop talking to you for awhile, but that's okay. Your husband should be your #1 priority, anyway. Be there for your friend emotionally, but don't play these games with her. No calling other women for her, no quizzing your husband, no snooping or spying on her husband. Be her friend, be her shoulder to cry on, but don't be her PI -- it will hurt your marriage.
