How To Make Organic Soap
How To Make Organic Soap

Soap Nuts: Nuts Soap nuts are not (by definition) at all!
Soap nuts (natural detergent that is actually growing on trees) are not "nuts" (in this case you can take the word anyway you want). They are actually a fruit most commonly known as soapberry. Now that had to sound really weird, huh? Not surprisingly, people confused. I just refer to a detergent such as fruit, and a detergent that grows on trees. Jugs and bottles certainly does not grow on trees. And it certainly would not call it a wine grape. Are you confused, yet? It would. It is my hope that this article clarifies much of what they really are nuts soap. As your understanding grows, these statements, the seems really stupid to start making sense. I have spent almost a year of intense study of soap nuts and their inherent properties. Laboratory test walk front of the machine, countless hours have been spent. As a large importer of U.S. and a formulator of products, it's my job. I hope my work will save you precious time.
Again, soap nuts are a fruit. They produce a substance that is a natural detergent (or soap). It's called saponin. Toad is in American reality for soap. There are numerous botanical sources of saponin. What makes soap nut so special is its high concentration of saponin. Is saponin natural surfactant that is mother nature itself acting effectively in the same way as chemical detergents or soap.
Major break: "What the hell is a surfactant?" Great question! I'm so glad someone asked!
south-fac-tion n. A substance or agent, for example, a detergent or a drug that reduces the surface tension of liquids so that the liquid spreads, instead of collecting in drops.
All soaps and detergents are essentially surfactants. These surfactants allow the rupture of the filth, dirt, oil, grease, etc in the water - and therefore allows things that are washed and cleaned. It's that simple. (There are some minor exceptions, but this is the key to realize how detergents and soaps work.) It's just that most surfactants - we know - have come from chemical laboratories instead of growing by Mother Nature. I assure they are not picking fruit at Procter and Gamble. At least not when it comes to detergent. I bet this is starting to make sense.
Somewhere through the time people started calling the soapberries dry "nuts". Why? Because they feel and look more like a walnut than anything else. They are hard and dry (when are ready for use), and even a walnut-like color. If you took one of the world, their first hypothesis would be "some kind of nut." So, there you go. The rest is history. Growing up in the tree, soap nuts remind me more of a cherry because of its large seed size in relation to the pulp and skin. As sun-dried to shrivel and then look reminiscent of a date or a cover (long) of raisins - just drier and more difficult. During its first two months are a golden yellow. As they age they will turn red in color. As time goes on, just a little darkened and reduced in size. While stored in a cool dry environment that can last years. As with nearly all natural or organic nuts, vegetables, etc., if not stored properly and allowed to become wet to denigrate and even molds. I would not recommend it at this point. (So much for common sense.)
Again, it is remarkable the ability of soap nuts to produce saponin (that natural soap) at high levels makes them so incredibly special - the ideal natural detergent, soap and cleaner. As a consumer, you get as simply nuts with their seeded (in general). However, as an apple is not just an apple, or grape must grape is not just a grape, a soap nut is not just a soap nut. Do you think that a vineyard is concerned about the type and quality of grapes they grow? You bet - big time. If everything is correct, one year's crop could become useless. Now, the grape is probably the most extreme example I can think for make my point. Such is the beauty of the edges of - the grounds it is easy to understand. It bases so that you apply soap to nuts.
Note: The purpose of this paper is also to provide some additional rationale About soap nuts can lead to personal experiences, even better, and also to help you become a more informed or seller.
First, the type, variety and tension: As with the grapes, which run the gamut. A vineyard is very particular in connection with the grapes they grow. Different grapes produce wines. With soap nuts, no need to go to that extreme for a reason: There is no aspect culinary treat. The value of a distilled soap nut (pun) to one thing - saponin. Saponin pure 100% (except the extraction process that can lead to significantly different results and qualities) has no variables. It is what it is. The concentration of saponin that we must deal. From one species to another in the family tree growing Sapindus worldwide, soap nuts are very diverse. Without going into the many, many varieties in detail (that is another long article), The fact is that the variety mukorossi contains high uniform concentration of saponin. Therefore, is the most valued and higher value. The Florida soapberry, for example, is a soap nut, but just does not work so well because its concentration of saponin pales in comparison. So is not the same as everyone else. So far, easy, right?
Second, harvest and back to the grape: The producers are very precise as to when the crop. The grapes are checked daily. Only their best, depending on what the producer wants, they are harvested. Even a day can make a difference. As this November is the perfect time of year to address this issue. To keep the attention they relate strictly mukorossi to crops, but the basics are the same for everyone.
At this time of year (October / November / December) is maturing soapberry in trees. From the size of the area and affected by time of year in the area, we will find soap nuts in various stages of development. We are trying with both wild and cultivated plantations soap nuts. Last year of the soap nut harvest has become dark and the shells have been reduced a bit in size. Only if stored properly dried yet (gummy or sticky nut). The new crop is, of course, higher demand and value. However, in the hurry to bring freshly harvested nuts soap in the market, many soap nuts harvested prematurely. When before harvest time, soap nuts will be a bright golden yellow, but will be typically small (often in the range of 2 cm compared with mature soapberry 4 cm or more).
"Ripe soap nuts have reached their peak in the saponin content - the most important factor. Therefore, not only are the early waste soap nuts harvested in another six to eight weeks can produce a more abundant harvest. But also, they will not be of the quality of a soap nut maturity. View drying and shipping times, finding the best quality of freshly harvested nuts soap to begin showing in the U.S. late December, January and February. Properly stored soap nut crop last year will be the best choice. If soap nuts are very dark, gummy and sticky (as is often the case now), have not been stored properly. So look elsewhere for better quality - no matter what time of year.
Third, the results of inexperience: Most sellers of soap nuts know little more than the average user. Soap Nuts are so new to the U.S. and the western hemisphere in general, many vendors are selling only the fact that a market exists. Whenever there is a market, there will be vendors (and, of course, buyers). This is a warning (emptor buyer beware) scenario. Product quality, the buyer receives is largely according to buyers' questions to ask. So ask questions. Ask about the kind, quality, condition, color and size. Do not get too hung up on age. The life of soap nuts is very long, if properly stored and maintained. Once again, ask. Request sample, if making a large purchase. Humidity building, often due to condensation, it is likely that the main causes of soap nuts inferior to enter the market. Be careful if you think they should be stored in a garage somewhere (a common scenario). If you do not get good answers, find another seller. Beware low prices, no good, logical reasons. Soap nuts are stored incorrectly worse at this time. Shops the "fire sale" them. "Normally get what you pay for.
Finally, the bottom of the barrel game: The two main varieties being sold in the U.S. are Sapindus Sapindus mukorossi and trifoliatus. Both grow in relatively close proximity, particularly in India. Trifoliatus variety is smaller and less effective. They are not as valued. Mixing varieties is a very common practice among growers and exporters. Even those who are very familiar with the soap nuts can immediately identify the difference. Important note: A lot of soap nuts are packaged abroad for retail in the U.S. to save on costs labor. (This "note" worthy of its own article, so I'll just leave it here.) Therefore, even most U.S. and Canada Sellers can inspect carefully. NaturOli, is an exception because the final package in made in the USA. Soap nuts have been sent by hand inspected NaturOli in a few weeks of sale.
So, the bottom line: You need not be an expert (as a master of wine) to find the nuts quality soap. The simple knowledge and even common sense, shared in this article should help make decisions aa lot better. Whether you're a rookie or veteran of the soap nuts, you want a good experience - and the most value for your money. Reliable quality and content of saponin ultimately lead to greater affordability. You never have to re-wash a load, or use soap nuts more than required. A little knowledge goes a long, long way.
Understanding that soap nuts are fruits of Mother Nature - not producing laboratory products - is the most critical aspect of being a good user and consumer of them. If you think about soap nuts as a fruit - either a grape, cherry, apple or - which are half way home.
In NaturOli, the phrase common hear every day is: "Together we can make a difference." This is sincere. I ask for soap nut NaturOli share experiences. None of us know what you do not know. Collectively, we all have much to share - and everyone can benefit from such sharing. Your input is highly valued and greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Acids, bases and salts. ?
Question - Ash from a wood fire are essential. Explain how early settlers used this fact when making soap. I do not understand the significance of this. First, I do not know the elements that make up the ashes. I did not know that the soap had nothing to do with the ashes ... Text information (irrelevant i think) - The soaps are organic salts. Soaps are made by reacting fats or oils with sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide. A formula for soap made with sodium hydroxide is C17H35cOONa. Produces sodium hydroxide solid soaps. Potassium hydroxide makes liquid soaps. Another product glcerin this reaction is an agent of weakness in the hand creams. The process of making soap is called saponification. Sorry if no text information help. That's why I'm stuck on this question in the first place): Please help to answer (: relevant answers are more useful for me that's irrelevant. Thank you. [= Thank you "love exists?" (: That helped me in a way (:
All soaps are bases. I do not know how to use it, but I'll give all the facts I know: Any fire always gives you CO2 + H2O (fatty end): CH3-(CH2) n - COONa: (water soluble end), I guess that when this work will CO2 + H2O + NaOH NaOH is a strong base (sometimes not often used in soaps) Do not know if it's any help at all sorry.
