How To Make Laundry Soap

Did you ever hide in the marketing forums? I - and often.

Not so much for education ... but for fun. Some of these tips are almost like soap operas - with every regular poster main "character" working hard on some strange personal drama or another.

Anyway, why am I bringing this up?

Because some time ago, one of the largest marketing forums (do not remember what, exactly), I saw a burst argument about whether someone should use the number "7" or "9" on prices.

Some argued for 7 - quoting a few old-school editors. Others countered with how 9 is better, because retail stores use, or because they saw a guru to use it well, Therefore, must be the best. And so on and so forth.

But this is what was funny: No one ... uhm ... tested.

Instead, he just said test results to your favorite guru. Or what they read in a book somewhere. Or, in some cases, to their thinking on personal preference.

Sigh. For the love of John Caples, a forum MARKETING.

And yet, no one could make a simple A / B split test?

Look, it never hurts to use evidence of other persons concerned. I do it all the time myself.

But it is absurd to listen blindly to any marketer and take what they say as "gospel" - if your favorite guru, a best-seller, me or anyone else.

Why? Because each market is different.

What worked 70 years ago selling detergents housewives sophisticated not necessarily going to work the selling today "how to make money on the Internet" eBooks to children 18 years of age living in the basement of his mother.

Let no one tell you otherwise is probably trying to sell something.

And if they are, then sure they are not evidence. Otherwise, they would not push this "one-size-fits-all" nonsense.

What is a good recipe for eco-friendly laundry soap?
