How To Make Cupcake Soap

I need Help on a Cup-Cake Disaster!? (should i buy another cake mix to add it?)?

I was making the cup-cake mix in a bowl and i added all the main ingredients but also decided to add some baking soda because i heard you can.
So i put first a little,but i decided to put more (like about half a cup) Since it was about 2 cake mixes in the bowl i thought the baking soda wouldn't change anything. But then i tasted the mix and it was salty so i addded a cup of suger to the mix. I tasted it and it was fine.
But then i put some in a pan and left plenty for later & when i saw it getting baked, bubbles started appearing and no matter how long i put it,it didn't get done well. I took them out & i tried one and it tasted like a horrible bitter soap taste that tasted like poison or something disgusting. I had alot of cake mix still ready i decided to add pancake mix to thicken it up & to try to take out the flavor.Please help me and tell me what i can do because i need to make 40 cupcakes by tomorrow because my class is having a party & i am in charge of bringing them.

way to much baking soda!! Baking soda is used as a leavener and makes the cake lighter and fluffier. If you used a mix, it was already in it. Either way, usually about a teaspoon or so should get you where you want to be. You cannot save the mix. Start over.
