Homemade Lotion
Homemade Lotion

Any recipes to make homemade lotion?
Something EASY! I am just a kid so it would help if it was easy. Love ya! and thanks
These are the easiest ones I know.
Ingredients
1 cup dried chamomile
4 tablespoons honey
1 cup milk
8 teaspoons wheat germ
Making the lotion
(A simple one)
Steep chamomile in milk for a few hours. Strain, keeping liquid. Add honey and wheat germ to liquid mixture. Blend well. Place in a bottle. Refrigerate any used portions. Keeps up to a week.
1/2 cup coconut milk
1 tbsp fine oatmeal
Heat the coconut milk on stove or microwave until lukewarm. Add to the oatmeal and mix well. Apply to rough (perhaps your face, elbows, knees and heels). Leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse off thoroughly.
(This is a little harder)
Here is a recipe I found for hand cream that is excellent for sore, dry skin. The recipe, developed by Rosemary Gladstar, is contained in the book "Tasha Tudor's Heirloom Crafts."
3/4 cup of apricot or almond oil
1/3 cup of coconut oil or cocoa butter
1 teaspoon lanolin
1/2 oz of grated beeswax
Melt these ingredients over low heat. Cool to room temperature. While these ingredients cool, mix together:
2/3 cup of rosewater
1/3 cup of aloe vera gel
1-2 drops of rose oil
the contents of 1 vitamin E capsule
Add these ingredients to the first mixture. Whip together until their consistency resembles buttercream frosting. Store in a covered jar.
(This could work)
1/2 oz Cocoa Butter, melted
1 oz Olive Oil, warmed
1 oz Orange Juice
2 drops essential oil (Orange Flower if possible)
Mix all ingredients together in blender until light and fluffy. This lotion need not be refrigerated, but should be used as soon as possible. It may separate, but can be beaten together again.
And lotion bars are child’s play to create. So easy. The only somewhat exotic ingredient is beeswax, and that really isn’t exotic at all. Ask your local beekeeper or find some online or in some craft stores. Vegans can substitute candelilla wax for beeswax.
I have a Cadillac lotion bar recipe, but I will lead with the, um, shall we say Ford Escort of lotion bars.
(This is actually a lotion bar)
1 part vegetable shortening
1 part vegetable oil
1 part beeswax
Melt the shortening and beeswax a double boiler or a little pan in a bigger pan of simmering water. Stir in the vegetable oil. Pour into cups/molds and let cool. Pop out of “mold” and it’s ready to use. The beeswax will fragrance the bars with a nice, light honey smell, or you can stir in a little essential oil before you pour it into the molds.
To use: Let the warmth of your hand melt a little of the bar and rub into dry skin–hands, feet, elbows, etc.
Yes, it’s oily at first. It’s REAL. And it does absorb in.
(Another one)
Part shea butter
1 part avocado oil
1 part beeswax
1200 IU vitamin E (1 lg. capsule) per every 6-8 oz. other oils
essential oil (optional)
Melt shea butter and beeswax in a double boiler or small pan in larger pan of water on the low heat setting of the stove. Stir in avocado oil and vitamin E and essential oil (optional). Pour into mold(s) and allow to cool. Pop out of mold if desired or leave it in a dish and scrape off a little as needed.
Note: Shea butter can occasionally become grainy. To avoid this, use just enough heat to get your ingredients to melt. Once your ingredients are blended, cool your mixture quickly by pouring into shallow container(s) in a cool room or popping it into the fridge to cool (not the freezer).
(Last one)
1/4 cup olive oil1 1/4 cup water
1/4 cup shaved or grated beeswax
Directions
Fill a small saucepan with tap water and heat it over medium low to use as a water bath.
Mix the olive oil and beeswax together in a microwave and heatproof glass measuring cup.
Place the measuring cup containing the wax & oil mixture into the water bath and allow the wax to melt fully, stirring the two together completely.
Fill another microwave proof bowl or cup with 2 cups of water. Heat it in the microwave on high for 2 minutes or until boiling.
Add the boiling water to the wax/oil mixture. The lotion will now have the consistency of skim milk. If you wish to add an essential oil, do so now, mixing it in well by stirring with a spoon.
Allow the lotion to cool slightly. Stir with a spoon or whisk and pour the lotion into a container while it’s still warm and easy to pour. Leave the container open to allow the lotion to cool completely. Store in the refrigerator.
If you want to prevent wrinkles try rubbing raw eggs on your face.
Homemade Pimple Treatments - Treatments for Pimples with Home Remedies
Pimples are the bane of youngsters and they would be very happy to have some homemade pimple treatments so that they can manage their own pimple treatment instead of running to dermatologists every time they get one. This is a time in the life of an adolescent when they are very sensitive to their appearance and would like to look their best always.
Every adolescent should realize that this is just a period in their lives when they have to deal with this problem and once they reach adulthood this will be a thing of the past. The first thing to help with pimples is to get to know what causes them. Pimples which are a milder form of acne are caused by the blocking of pores by the oil secreted from the skin. If neglected these pimples can become more widespread and leave behind scars even after they have healed. So the best way to avoid this is to start your homemade pimple treatments and control more from forming.
Once you know the causes of pimples you should start working on a daily routine to take care of your skin so that you can avoid getting pimples. To remove the excess oil on your skin make sure that you keep your face clean and wash it with a mild antiseptic soap at least twice a day. This helps in preventing the bacteria from forming and causing infection like the pustules that form in pimples. If there are too many pimples then you should also use a antibacterial lotion after washing your face, but once the pimples have dried there is no need to continue with this lotion any longer. However make sure that the cleansing routine is strictly followed.
Homemade pimple treatments are not just for external use, the "insides" should also be taken care of and a detoxifying done for yourself regularly. A drink of lime juice in warm water with a spoon of honey first thing in the mornings will work wonders for your skin. Apart from this what one needs for a clear skin is a well balanced diet with enough nutrients in it. For those who are prone to pimples it is best to avoid all oily foods and eat more of fruits and vegetables. Water is a wonderful detoxifying agent and will help in flushing out the toxins from your body. So try and make sure that at least two liters of water is consumed by you on a daily basis. This is bound to keep your skin clear and rid you of the problem of pimples during your adolescent years. This problem will disappear on its own in any case after a few years and you need not worry about it any longer.
