Glycerine For Soap Making

When making glycerine soap and using a plastic mold, what should I spray the plastic with? If anything?

How long should it set for? Should I freeze it? How long does it take for soap to set or cure? Should I wrap it in something plastic , paper bags for a while? Or just let it air out?

You can spray with canola or vegetable cooking spray but what I have found to work the best is applying a THIN layer of petroleum jelly.

How long it sets depends on the size of the mold and the thickness of the soap. It can be as quick as 10 minutes for a mini mold and thin soap or an hour. One recipe I made took 2 hours but it had a lot of ingredients. Freezing is unnecessary but does help speed up the setting process.

As for curing, I've seen 1-2 weeks recommended. You should definitley let it set for 24 hours before wrapping or you can wait the longer time period.
