You should be aiming to eat at least 5 servings of fruit and vegetables each day as a minimum and more is better if you can. It is also important to make sure that you get enough sleep each night as research has shown that people who get less than 6 hours are more likely to be overweight.
Increasing the amount of exercise you do helps to tone and strengthen the body as well as helping to burn off surplus calories. This needn’t involve spending hours at the gym simply taking the stairs at work or walking for half an hour each day will produce some benefits. The best form of exercise is however one you enjoy as you will be more likely to stick to it. An hour spent in a dance class can burn up to 350 calories and is an excellent way of meeting new friends.
