How much money do I have to open my own business?

I am looking to open a physical store. I've been saving for a year. I'm not ready to jump on it yet, but I have some goals Reserved for when I do. My idea is not new, but only in my area. I would like to open my own bath and a gourmet shop handmade soap. Since I have a web site that is up well.I do not use all the same products, which are mostly natural, and I have testers when I come with a new idea. This would be my full time job.

First I would like to assess whether having your own store is the right approach. If your website is not thriving, then your product through unique can not be sufficient demand to justify a brick and mortar location (B & M). My suggestion would be that all stores selling your product on consignment. Most of small eclectic shops and boutiques have some kind of program delivery already happening. I live in a city of 80k and there are 10 shops that I know of that sells your type of product on consignment. In addition, you should go to a couple flee markets / craft show / business and show the industry and see how well they sell. You be able to assess if your product is unique enough to point out simply by counting the number of people who do not even stop to look after reading your signs. To more directly answer your question, you must have six months of cash to meet the needs of both the shop and living expenses. Most B & M ups do not break, even the first year and as I'm sure you've heard 80% of all businesses fail. I guarantee you that 75% of that 80% thought they were the best thing going since sliced bread so do not speak decisions based on emotions instead of statistics and research. In addition, you will need a backup plan. If you are having to quit a job to start this u can get another later. If your store does not in 12 months what would your financial situation similar. From a business point of view always use someone else's money. If you can rent then rent. If you can rent, then lease. If you can get a loan from the SBA to do so. If you have problems, then you still have your cash not a lot of real estate or equipment that can not be downloaded. You rather have bad credit that broke. In addition, using money from other people who have a vested interest in staying afloat so you can use actually its creditors and resources and even to fight against some of his fights. good luck
